You may qualify for Supplemental Security Income if you are blind, disabled, or age 65 or older and have assets of $2,000 or less per person or $3,000 or less per couple.
Your income, including pensions, workers' compensation payments, business income, wages, and other sources of income are considered in your application for benefits.
In addition you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a qualifying alien
- Reside in the U.S.
- Not have left the U.S. for an entire calendar month or more than 30 consecutive days
- Agree to apply for all other cash benefits for which you are eligible
