When disability benefits can make up for early retirement

Most Americans don’t have the option of retiring until at least the age of 65. However, sometimes a disabling injury or condition sends workers into retirement early, causing their income to take a major hit.

Do I have enough work credits to qualify for SSDI?

In order to qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits you need to have an illness or condition that meets the Social Security Administration's definition of "disability." You also must have worked long enough and recently enough in a job that is covered by Social Security.
